Carla Mooking is a Trinidad born, Canadian raised visual artist. Her refreshingly imaginative graphic style is characterized by vivacious energy, organic shapes and vibrant colours that are a direct influence of her Caribbean roots. 

Carla studied Visual Communication Design at Grant MacEwan University, where she studied illustration and Graphic Design. After 10 years as a successful Graphic Designer and Illustrator she decided to pursue her love of painting after participating in Edmonton’s annual black history month art show entitled “5 Artists 1 Love”.  The art show had a retrospective in 2013 and the Art Gallery of Alberta where one of her paintings was featured. Carla moved to Vancouver in 2010, had her first solo show in 2011 at Raw Canvas and had 2 pieces selected for the group show “Uncovered” at Cityscape Community Artspace in North Vancouver. Her second solo show “True Colors” was showcased at Havana Gallery in June 2014. 

Carla lives and paints at her home studio in North Vancouver where she resides with her daughter.
