Join Madelyn Mulvaney Luminous Elephant Founder, on a delightful journey exploring a vital, joyful, present life.

This retreat will explore soulfully creative and cheerful art workshops in self expression along with meditation/breathwork/a Joyful flow yoga practice intended to re-awaken a connection to inner joy and vitality.  We will dive into uplifting wellness practices created to bring your best spirit back into the light.

The Hello JOY retreat will take place at Bodega Ridge, a beautiful sanctuary 50 minutes off the coast of Vancouver on the ancestral and unceded territory of Penelakut, Hwlitsum, and Tsawwassen First Nations on Galiano Island. (Galiano, BC).

What’s Included

  • 2-night accommodation in beautiful three bedroom cabins (each guest has their own bedroom)

  • All meals (2 dinners, 2 lunch, 2 breakfasts/homemade snacks throughout the day) that nourish mind, body and spirit with a delightful Southeast Asian/Gulf Island menu featuring primarily vegetarian meals with locally caught fish created by Chef Elmark Andres of Lola's Restaurant. Bodega Ridge have their own gardens so produce is fresh off their farm gardens!

  • Welcome circle

  • Morning breathwork/JOYful flow yoga practice focusing on awakening the heart each morning before breakfast

  • The Artist’s Journal workshop: An upbeat, happy conscious Journaling/Visioning workshop to explore mindful intentions for creating a more joyful life using water-colours/pen and ink/mixed media

  • Painting workshop: A gorgeous Acrylic Painting class creating a stunning mountain/seascape on canvas OR on an organic Tote!

  • Clay Workshop: Hand form a lovely tiny/self drying pinched clay vase with Artists Julia De la Puente and Alex Swanson

  • Printmaking workshop: Create your own carved lino or use our stunning carved lino’s for beautiful printmaking and create a set of cheery cards

  • A citrine and sandalwood Mala bracelet will be gifted to each guest to celebrate our joy of being together

  • Creating a one of a kind Wabi Sabi vase for dried florals using locally sourced Douglas fir - Instructor Jaki will jig saw cut your own design and you will be hand carving/sanding/wood burning etching/oiling with Artist Jackie Chapman/founder of Jak Natural Designs

The Practices

Our Creative Flow Arts Retreat intends to spark your creative joy through breath, movement, artsy workshops and cheery group practices along with a like-minded community. Whether you consider yourself to be an artistic person or not, we are all flowing with creative potential, and this retreat will inspire you to enjoy delightful ‘making’ - all together now!

Meditation

A simple morning meditation/breathwork class along with a Joyful Yoga flow will be offered for everyone before breakfast. The classes are for all-levels and modifications will be given.

Creativity

Each of our illuminating Arts/Journaling sessions will be lead by Madelyn Mulvaney and a Luminous Studios instructor. Madelyn is a warm hearted, upbeat leader of group retreats.

We will explore Artist’s journaling, nature-inspired acrylic painting, printmaking with lino cut designs, form a hand built/clay pinched pot/create your own Wabi Sabi hand designed wood vase - and you will also take home a beautiful gift of a pure crystal Mala bracelet.

All of our Art workshops /meditation sessions will be held in the Bodega Ridge modern, bright, cheery barn.

No previous art experience is necessary!

The Food

During your retreat, you will enjoy delicious and nourishing meals curated by Chef Elmark Andres of Lola's Restaurant on-site. All meals are served at Lola’s Restaurant on site at Bodega Ridge. Read more about the chef here.

Accomodations

The Ridge has seven charming, self-contained log cabins, all with three bedrooms, living room, full kitchen and bath. Each cabin sleeps up to six guests with three bedrooms and queen-size beds with dreamy pillow-top mattresses.

Situated on a pastoral 22 acre property, Bodega has a big sky feeling you would normally associate with the interior. The property has room to roam with beautiful ocean and landscape views. The cabins are spacious and cozy.

The Ridge cabins have iconic log walls with modern interiors featuring bespoke Bocci lights, leather furniture, well-equipped kitchens and pillow top beds with beautiful handcrafted blankets from Prince Edward Island. These beautiful cabins create a joyful, peaceful and cozy space to unwind and relax.

Each guest will have their own private bedroom with a queen sized bed.

Note: If you and a friend sign up for our retreat please let us know so we can place you in the same cabin.

**If you are interested in having a private one bedroom cabin we do have two available (1,875.00 for the retreat/one bedroom private cabin in Bodega Cove) - email us if interested.

*Travel to/from Galiano Island is not included but we are happy to offer pick up from the ferry - email us if needed. We do suggest you bring your car however as Galiano Island is a bustling, stunning place to explore. For this event please pre book your Ferry reservation to and back from Galiano Island - it is a very very poplar Island !

Payment Terms & Conditions

Once booked, this retreat is non-refundable. In the event of a government ordered closure / ferry cancellations/etc we will issue a full non expiring credit that you can use towards any offering at the Luminous Studios including future retreats. No refunds will be given.

Madelyn is a teacher, speaker, photographer and passionate advocate for self awareness through the arts. Founder of Luminous Studios (formerly the Luminous Elephant art studio), she creates bright, engaging curriculum in the arts for Corporate clients along with imaginative retreats for corporate and personal getaways.
