beginner beanie knitting course with Shellina of wool parade

all supplies included!

Learn how to knit your own easy beanie in this relaxed, beginner-friendly course taught by Shellina of wool parade.

The course is divided into two 2.5-hour classes, giving you plenty of time to learn, practise, ask questions and take breaks to grab a coffee.

class one: getting started

You’ll learn how to:

  • make a slipknot

  • cast on your stitches

  • work the knit and purl stitches

  • begin knitting your beanie

  • understand stitch tension

  • recognize and fix common mistakes

You’ll continue knitting your beanie between classes so it’s ready to finish during our second session.

class two: finishing your beanie

You’ll learn how to:

  • decrease and shape the top of your beanie

  • safely remove your knitting from the needles

  • close and finish the top

  • weave in loose ends

  • fix dropped or extra stitches

  • add the final touches to your finished beanie

No previous knitting experience is needed. The classes will be small, welcoming and hands-on, with lots of individual support along the way.

By the end of the course, you’ll have a hand-knit beanie of your own and the foundational skills to continue knitting with confidence.
